Terms of Use

Last updated:

These terms cover the King Dies Rich app for iPhone and iPad, published by Outlane Games ("we", "us"). By playing, you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not play.

Free to play. Every purchase is optional.

Purchases go through the App Store. Crowns and everything else in the game are virtual and have no cash value. Tournament prizes are in-game items only. We do not tolerate offensive names or abusive players.

1. These terms, and Apple

These terms are between you and Outlane Games, not Apple. They come on top of Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, under which you may use the app on Apple devices you own or control. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app, its content, its support and any claim about it. Apple has no duty to maintain or support it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.

2. The game

King Dies Rich is free to download and play, and works offline. You need no account. Your game is saved on your device; if you lose it and have not saved your progress with your email, we may not be able to bring it back.

We keep improving the game, so things in it may change, including its balance, its rewards and what Crowns buy. The game and everything in it belong to us: we give you a personal, non-transferable license to play it, and you may not copy, sell or modify it.

3. Crowns and other virtual items

Crowns, shards, tournament tickets, items, heads for your king and everything else you get in the game, bought or won, are virtual. They are a license to use something in the game, not money and not your property. They have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred to other players or exchanged for real money or anything outside the game. Crowns you buy do not expire.

4. Purchases

  • Purchases are optional and made through your Apple Account at the price the App Store shows. Apple takes the payment under its own terms. If you are a minor, ask a parent or guardian first.
  • What you buy is delivered to your game at once. If a purchase does not arrive, open the game again while online; if it still does not arrive, write to us.
  • Refunds are Apple's to give: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing here limits the rights your country's law gives you.
  • The Royal Decree is the game's season pass, a one-time purchase for one season of 30 days, never a subscription: nothing renews by itself.
  • Things left to chance: the Forge makes an item of a kind it cannot foretell, for gold. It shows the odds of each kind before you press it. Nothing sold for real money is left to chance.

5. Saving your progress

Save my progress keeps your kingdom under your email, and is optional. Keep your email yours: whoever has it can sign in to your kingdom. You can delete the account at any time in Settings. How we handle your data is in our Privacy Policy.

6. King of Kings: the official rules

  • Sponsor. King of Kings is run by Outlane Games. Apple is not a sponsor of it and is not involved in it in any way. Questions about it go to us, never to Apple.
  • Who may play. Anyone playing the game whose king has passed circle I, wherever the game is offered. It is optional.
  • How it works. Each week, from Monday 00:00 UTC to the next Monday, kings compete with the score of their best attempt. An attempt is a siege that ends when your king falls or the week ends. Of equal scores, the one made first ranks higher.
  • No purchase is necessary. Each attempt takes a ticket. The game gives free tickets regularly, and more can be had with Crowns.
  • Groups and leagues. Kings play in groups of 30 of similar strength, in four leagues (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Crown); each week the best of a group move up a league and the last move down. While players are few, a group may include recorded attempts of past weeks, made by other players or by us. They appear and are ranked like the other kings. Prizes go only to kings playing that week, for the place they reach.
  • Prizes. Prizes are virtual items only: Crowns, shards, heads and marks for your king, a place in the Hall of Fame and the like. They have no cash value, and no prize is ever money or a physical good.
  • Fair play. Every attempt is checked on our server, which replays it by the game's own rules; an attempt that does not check out does not count. Cheating, exploiting bugs, automated play, tampering with the game, its saves or its traffic, or working with others to rig a group voids the results concerned. We may take back prizes won so and keep a player out of the tournament. We may correct results when we find an error.
  • What others see. Your king's name, head, outfit, title, school, best score, place, league and wins are shown to other players in the tournament's tables, among the world's best, and in the chronicle of champions, which is kept for good.

7. Names and conduct

A king's name is the one thing you write that other players read. We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Choose a name that offends no one and is no one else's: nothing hateful, sexual, threatening or harassing.

  • The game refuses names on its list of words, and shows a drawn name in their place.
  • Tap a king in King of Kings to report his name, or to block him: a blocked king's name is hidden from you.
  • We look into every report within 24 hours. We remove a name that breaks these rules, and may keep the player who chose it out of the tournament.
  • You can also reach us at hi@outlanegames.com.

8. The fine print

The game is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we make no promise that it will always be available or free of bugs, and we are not liable for indirect losses, or for more than you paid us in the last twelve months. Nothing here limits what the law of your country does not let us limit. You must use the app within the law and must not be barred from receiving it by any sanctions or embargo. These terms end if you break them.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms when the game or its tournament changes. The current terms are always on this page, with the date they last changed. For any question or complaint, write to Outlane Games at hi@outlanegames.com.
