Terms of Service and Sale
Last updated:
These terms cover King Dies Rich as you play it on this website, its weekly tournament, and everything you buy in it. The game is published by Outlane Games ("we", "us"). By playing or buying, you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not play.
Free to play. Nothing sold is left to chance.
Purchases are optional. Payments are handled by Xsolla, the merchant of record. Crowns, shards and everything else in the game are virtual: they have no cash value and cannot be sold or transferred. The Royal Decree is a one-time purchase for one season, never a subscription. Tournament prizes are in-game items only. If anything goes wrong, write to hi@outlanegames.com with your order number and we will make it right.
1. The game
King Dies Rich is free to play in your browser. You need no account to play: your game is saved in your browser, and a copy of it is kept on our server so that it can be restored. If you have not signed in (section 2), clearing this site's data or playing in another browser or on another device starts a new game, and we may not be able to find your old one.
We keep improving the game, so things in it may change, including its balance, its rewards and what Crowns buy. If we ever close the game, we will announce it on this site in advance.
2. Signing in (optional)
You can sign in with your email address to keep your game, and what you bought, across devices and browsers. We email you a one-time code; entering it links your game to your email, and signing in the same way on another device brings your game there. The device you signed in on last keeps the game: an older copy elsewhere cannot write over it.
Anyone who can read your email can sign in to your game, so keep your email account secure. One email holds one game. How we handle your email is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Crowns, shards and other virtual items
Crowns, shards, tournament tickets, items, heads for your king and everything else you get in the game, bought or earned, are a personal, limited, non-transferable and revocable license to use them in King Dies Rich. They are not money and are not your property. They have no cash value, cannot be sold, transferred to other players or exchanged for real money, goods or anything outside the game, and are not refundable except as section 9 or the law says. We do not buy them back.
The game also gives Crowns and shards for playing. Crowns pay for shards, second chances in a siege, tournament tickets, Double Speed and more; shards forge the legendary item you choose in the Hoard and make it stronger.
4. Purchases
- Who sells. Purchases are processed by Xsolla, our authorized reseller and the merchant of record. You pay Xsolla in its payment window, under its own terms and privacy policy, which it shows there. Xsolla sends the receipt to the email you give it.
- Prices and taxes. Prices are set in US dollars; the payment window may show them in your currency. Sales tax, VAT or GST may be added at checkout depending on where you are; Xsolla collects it.
- Delivery. A purchase is delivered to your game as soon as Xsolla confirms the payment, usually within seconds. Some ways of paying take longer to confirm; the purchase then arrives by itself, on a later visit if need be. It goes to the game in the browser you bought it in, and wherever you are signed in.
- Nothing sold is random. Every pack and offer says exactly what it gives before you buy it, and you get exactly that. The Royal Decree shows the reward of every step on its scroll.
- Offers. The first purchase of each pack of Crowns gives twice its Crowns, once per pack. King's Welcome is offered for a limited time early in the game and can be bought once. Siege Supplies is offered when a hall holds your king back, at most once a day. The Crown Reserve holds the Crowns your bosses lay by and can be opened for its price once it holds enough; it gives all it holds. An offer with a time limit shows when it ends. Your first purchase also gives your king the golden lion's head.
- What the game cannot take. The game checks before payment that it can take what you buy (for example, that King's Welcome is not already yours). If a purchase is paid and the game still cannot take it, we refund it.
- Minors. If you are under the age of majority where you live, ask a parent or guardian before buying anything.
5. The Royal Decree
The Royal Decree is the game's season pass. Seasons last 30 days and are the same for every player; the game shows how many days are left. Sealing (buying) the Decree opens its own road of rewards for that season, gives at once the rewards of the steps you have already climbed, and makes your steps climb faster from then on. You climb steps by playing; we do not promise that you will reach every step. When the season ends, the rewards of the steps you reached and did not take are given to you.
It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It covers the season in which it reaches your game (normally the moment you pay) and ends with that season. It never renews and nothing is charged again. Each new season's Decree is a separate purchase, made only if you choose to. Buying late in a season does not make it longer.
6. King of Kings, the weekly tournament
- How it works. King of Kings opens once your king has passed circle I. Each week, from Monday 00:00 UTC to the next Monday, kings compete with the gold of their best attempt; an attempt is a siege that ends when your king falls or the week ends. Of equal scores, the one made first ranks higher.
- Tickets. Each attempt takes a ticket. The game gives free tickets regularly, and more can be had with Crowns. No purchase is necessary to take part.
- Groups and leagues. Kings play in groups of 30 of similar strength, in four leagues (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Crown); each week the best of a group move up a league and the last move down. While players are few, a group may include recorded attempts of past weeks (made by other players, or by us while the tournament is new). They appear and are ranked like the other kings. Prizes go only to kings playing that week, for the place they reach.
- Prizes. Prizes are virtual items only: Crowns, shards, heads and marks for your king, a place in the Hall of Fame and the like. They have no cash value, and no prize is ever money or a physical good.
- Fair play. Every attempt is checked on our server, which replays it by the game's own rules; an attempt that does not check out does not count. Cheating, exploiting bugs, automated play, tampering with the game, its saves or its traffic, or working with others to rig a group voids the results concerned. We may take back prizes won so and keep a player out of the tournament. We may correct results when we find an error.
- What others see. Your king's name, head, outfit, title, school, best score, place, league and wins are shown to other players in the tournament's tables, among the world's best, and in the chronicle of champions, which is kept for good. Choose a name that offends no one and is no one else's; we may change or hide a name that breaks this.
7. Friends and invitations
Your game has its own invitation code and link. Someone who comes to the game by your link, or enters your code, becomes your friend, and you see each other's king, league, place and progress. When a newcomer you invited passes circle I, you both get a head for your king that only friends give, once each. Share your link only with people who would welcome it: do not send it as spam.
8. Reminders
If you turn them on, the game can send you reminders through your browser, such as a full treasury, rewards waiting, a season ending, or a rival passing you in the tournament. You can turn them off at any time in the game or in your browser's settings.
9. Refunds and problems with a purchase
Purchases are delivered to the game right after payment and can be used at once, so they are final once delivered, except as this section or the law where you live says. Where you have a right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content (for example in the European Union or the United Kingdom), you ask for immediate delivery when you pay and acknowledge that the right ends once delivery has begun.
We will help, and refund where it is fair, when:
- a purchase you paid for did not arrive in the game;
- you were charged twice for one purchase;
- a purchase was made without your permission, for example by a child;
- the game could not take a purchase (section 4);
- your game was lost (cleared browser data or a new device, without signing in): we can give back the Crowns and shards of the purchases we can match to your order numbers.
Write to hi@outlanegames.com with the order number from Xsolla's receipt, or use the support link in the receipt. Refunds are made by Xsolla, to the way you paid, under its terms and the law. A purchase that is refunded or charged back may be taken back from the game.
10. Fair play
Please do not tamper with the game, its saves, its tournament or its payments, sell or trade games or items, or use the game to harm others. We may refuse or cancel purchases that look fraudulent, and may suspend a game that breaks these terms.
11. The game as it is
The game is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our liability for any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the game, its tournament or its store changes. The current terms are always on this page, with the date they last changed; we will point out important changes in the game or on this site. Purchases are governed by the terms in force when you made them.
13. Contact
For anything about these terms, the tournament or a purchase, write to Outlane Games at hi@outlanegames.com. How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
