Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy covers the King Dies Rich Android app distributed through Google Play, published by Outlane Games ("we", "us").
No accounts. No ads. We do not sell your data.
The app uses Google's Firebase Analytics and, from version 1.3.0, a summary of each installation's play on our own server to understand how the game is played and improve its balance. You can turn statistics off in the game's Settings. Your saved progress stays in the app's private storage on your device, with optional Android backup. Versions that offer optional in-app purchases use Google Play Billing to process payments.
1. Game statistics (Firebase Analytics)
While statistics are enabled, the app records:
- Gameplay and app interactions: sieges started and ended, halls reached, play duration, kills, gold earned, how a siege ended, tutorial progress, buildings and goods bought with in-game gold, equipment, gems, Bestiary cards, screens visited, and settings changed.
- Purchases and the in-game economy: offers viewed, purchase attempts, virtual currency earned and spent, and whether this installation has made a purchase. In versions with in-app purchases, Firebase may automatically record completed purchases and refunds, including the product, price, quantity, value, and currency. These statistics are associated with the app instance identifier described below.
- Installation and device information: a randomly generated app instance identifier, device model, Android and app versions, language, and events such as first launch and app use. We do not link the app instance identifier to your name, email address, or Google account.
- Approximate location: country, region, and city derived by Google Analytics from your IP address. Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. The app does not request access to your device's precise location.
The app does not collect your name, email address, contacts, personal files, precise location, advertising ID, or Android ID. It has no account registration or advertising.
2. Game statistics on our server
From version 1.3.0 the app also keeps a summary of each installation's play on a server of ours (a database hosted by Supabase for Outlane Games), so that we can see how far players get, how long they play, whether they come back, and what they buy. It is one record per installation, brought up to date as you play. While statistics are enabled, it holds:
- An identifier: a random one, made by the game for this installation and kept with your saved progress (so Android backup may carry it to a new device). It is not linked to your name, email address, Google account, or Firebase's identifier.
- Totals of play: playtime, sessions, the days on which you played (counted from the day of the install), sieges, how many ended with the king's fall, bosses felled, the deepest hall reached, and after how much playtime each hall was first reached.
- What stands in your save: gold, Kingdom levels, Bestiary cards, Crowns and shards (held, earned, and spent), legendaries forged, Royal Chests opened, and second chances taken.
- Purchases: how many of each product were bought and, for each purchase from version 1.3.0 on, the product, its Google Play order identifier, when it was made, and the deepest hall and playtime at that moment.
- The installation: the app and Android versions, the device's maker and model, the country of your Google Play account (or your device's region), and where the install came from as Google Play's Install Referrer reports it: the name given to a link to the game on Google Play (for example “twitter”), or Google Play's own search and pages.
It does not hold your name, email address, IP address, advertising ID, or Android ID. To limit abuse, the server counts requests per network address, keeping only a one-way hash of the address for at most a day. The record is sent over HTTPS, read only by Outlane Games to understand and balance the game, not used for advertising, and not shared. It is kept while the game is offered, so that players of different times can be compared.
3. In-app purchases
In versions that offer in-app purchases, purchases are optional and processed through Google Play Billing. Google collects and processes your payment information under its own terms and Privacy Policy. The app does not collect or store your payment card numbers or bank account details.
To confirm a purchase and deliver the purchased content, the app processes the product identifier, purchase token, order identifier when available, and purchase status. It keeps purchase identifiers and delivery information in your local save to prevent the same purchase from being delivered more than once.
Where server verification is used, purchase details are sent over HTTPS to our purchase-verification service, which checks the transaction with Google Play. We use these details to verify payments, deliver content, prevent fraud and duplicate delivery, and resolve purchase support requests, refunds, or disputes. They are not used for advertising.
Purchasing and verifying purchases require an internet connection. You do not need to create an account with Outlane Games to play or buy content; Google Play handles the Google account used for payment.
4. Use, processing, and security
We use statistics to understand game progression, improve gameplay, and balance the game. Nothing is used for advertising or shared with advertisers.
Google processes analytics data through Firebase Analytics. See Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy and security information. Analytics data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Game saves are stored in the app's private storage, protected by Android's application sandbox.
5. Your privacy choices
Statistics are enabled by default. To stop analytics collection, open the game's Settings → Statistics → Off. The app remembers this choice and stops collecting statistics until you turn it back on. You can continue playing with statistics disabled, including offline.
Turning statistics off does not delete analytics data already collected. See the retention and deletion information below.
The Statistics switch controls Firebase Analytics, including purchase analytics, and the summary sent to our server: while it is off, nothing more is sent. It does not disable Google Play payment processing or the purchase verification and delivery records needed to complete a purchase you choose to make.
6. Saved progress and Android backup
Your saved progress, including gold, items, Kingdom buildings, and settings, is kept locally on your device. Purchase identifiers, delivery records, and purchased virtual currency or content may also be kept in this save. The game does not upload your complete save files to our servers. Analytics and purchase details sent for verification are separate from your save files.
If Android backup is enabled, Android may include the game's saved data in a backup associated with your Google account or transfer it to a new device. These backups are managed by Android and your device's backup settings.
7. Retention and deletion
Saved progress remains on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. This removes the local save; any Android backup is managed separately through your device's backup settings.
Event-level analytics data is retained according to the game's Google Analytics property settings: 2 months by default, or up to 14 months. Data that reaches the end of its retention period is deleted automatically by Google Analytics. Aggregated reports may remain beyond that period.
Purchase-verification records are kept for as long as needed to deliver purchases, prevent fraud or duplicate delivery, resolve refunds or disputes, and meet applicable legal obligations. This is separate from the analytics retention period. Clearing app data or uninstalling the game does not delete transaction records held by Google Play or any purchase-verification records held by us.
The summary of play on our server is kept while the game is offered. Turning statistics off does not delete it.
For privacy questions or requests concerning previously collected data, contact hi@outlanegames.com. Since analytics uses a random app instance identifier rather than an account or email address, additional information may be needed to identify the relevant records. For purchase-related requests, an order identifier may help us locate the transaction. Records needed for fraud prevention, disputes, or legal obligations may need to be retained. Google's retention and deletion practices govern the transaction records it holds.
8. App permissions
- Vibration: haptic feedback during play. You can turn it off in the game's Settings.
- Internet and network state: used to send statistics (to Firebase Analytics and to our server) and, in versions with purchases, for Google Play Billing and purchase verification. The game's code, art, and audio are bundled with the app, so ordinary gameplay is available offline.
9. Children's privacy
The app does not ask players to provide their name, age, or contact information. The analytics practices and Statistics switch described in this policy apply to all players. If you are a parent or guardian with a privacy concern, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The current policy will remain available on this page, with its last updated date shown above.
